Lawrence Junior "Larry" Barbee

JAMESTOWN- Lawrence (Larry) Junior Barbee, 78, of 5028 Harvey Road died Sunday April 23, 2006 at High Point Regional Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Jamestown Church of God by the Rev. Wayne Atkins, the Rev. Sherman Hawks, the Rev. Tim Fields and the Rev. Tony Cruthis. Interment will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Barbee was born May 10, 1927 in Guilford County the son of Lawrence G. Barbee and Annie Shelley Barbee. He was retired from Lucent Inc. after 34 years of service. He served in the Merchant Marine and the U.S. Army. He was a member of Jamestown Church of God. On July 17, 1963 he married Glenda Cruthis and she survives at the home.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a sister, Jackie Barbee Mashburn of Jamestown; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Sechrest Funeral Service in East Lexington Ave. in High Point, Tuesday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
