JULIAN Larry Mansfield, 74, of Julian died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Larry served his country with the United States Navy and is a member of Sure Foundation Baptist Church. He was more than an avid race fan. Larry was a local race car driver. He loved everything about racing: drag racing, driving race cars, working on race cars, being around the race track, and collecting classic cars.
He is survived by his wife, Vickey Mansfield of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Darrin Wilkins of Reidsville; Melanie and Mark Johnson of Randleman; his beloved grandchildren, Mandy Wilkins of Reidsville, Dylan and Misha Johnson, both of Randleman; brother, Sonny Mansfield of Randleman; sisters, Pauline Ferguson of Greensboro and Esquerita Biddix of Kernersville; and his constant K-9 companion, Missy.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 at the funeral home.
