HIGH POINT — Mrs. Kathryn Maxine Floyd Adams, 84, formerly of High Point, currently of Gainesville, Florida, passed away Monday April 4, at her home in Florida.
Mrs. Adams was born in High Point on August 13, 1926 to Robert Cletus and Nettie Haney Floyd. She began her career with the F.B.I. in Washington, DC during WWII and continued her employment with the Veterans Administration, and the U.S. Postal Dept. until her retirement from Civil Service. Mrs. Adams was always ready for an adventure, living and traveling in Europe, the Middle East, and Central America. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in High Point.
Surviving are her husband: Roger L. Adams, Jr. of the residence in Florida; a daughter; Kelly L. Adams of Morriston, Florida; and son, Robert C. Adams and wife Patricia of Mint Hill, N.C. There are two grandchildren; Theodore and Abigail Adams. She has one sister: Ina Pearl Steffan of High Point.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Sechrest Funeral Chapel on E. Lexington Avenue by the Reverend Dr. Jim Wilson. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
