KETTERING, OH — John Dick Squires passed away at his home in Kettering, OH October 9, 2012. He was born April 13, 1948 in Greensboro to parents Irvin R. (Buck) and Frances R. Squires.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Misty and Greg Peeler of Chapel Hill, grandchildren Matthew, Anna Grace and Aaron, brother Buck Squires Jr. of Charlotte, sister Pat Squires Jett of Plano, TX, nephew Carter Jett, niece Charlotte Jett and husband, Alan Silver.
He was a graduate of Christ School '66, Harvard University '70, the US Army 1971-72 and UNC Chapel Hill Law School '75. After practicing law in Dayton, OH for many years he retired to pursue his passionate interest in the writings of author M.P. Shiel, as publisher of JDS Books, and The Vainglory Press.
The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the 3:30 p.m. memorial service on December 1 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm St., Greensboro 27401 followed by interment at Greenhill Cemetery.
