MYRTLE BEACH John A. McIntyre of Myrtle Beach died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Born on September 17, 1935 in Robbins, NC, he was the son of the late William E. and Louise McKay McIntyre. After serving in the Army, he graduated from NC State University in Civil Engineering and moved to Myrtle Beach. For many years, he was involved in the commercial construction both in Myrtle Beach and the Bahamas. His favorite pastime was playing the banjo.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Annabel Ray McIntyre; sons, John A. "Chip" McIntyre, Jr. and William Ray McIntyre and grandchildren, William Ray McIntyre, Jr., Annabel Jane McIntyre and Callie Renee McIntyre.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, January 11 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, 11528 Hwy 17 Bypass.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, January 12 at Socastee United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Smith officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in North Carolina.
