GREENSBORO - Mr. John "Jack" A Baughman of Greensboro, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

A memorial service and Masonic service will be held on Tuesday, December 4 at 3 p.m. at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel. A visitation will proceed the service from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the service a gathering of family and friends will be held in the Parlor of Fellowship Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m.

Jack was born on April 6, 1934 in Wheeling, WV to the late John Sr., and Bertha Baughman. John (Jack) was a retired senior chemist of 27 years from Ciba Geigy (now Navartis). He was a past member of the American Chemical Society.

Jack also played guitar professionally for 26 years with various bands in WV and AL. He attended West Liberty University and West Virginia University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Jack was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Gate City Lodge AF & AM #694 in Greensboro as well as a member of the Abba Shrine in Mobile, AL., and also of the Shriner's Club in Greensboro.

Jack and Nancy enjoyed their time and boating at their "escape" home on Smith Mountain Lake.

John is survived by his wife Nancy and daughter Dawn Baughman of the home; son, Scott and his wife Nancy of Summerfield, NC; grandson, Travis Baughman of Trinity, NC; one brother, Robert Baughman and wife Georgia of Cocoa Beach, FL; a niece Deborah Baughman of Boynton Beach, FL; one nephew Robert Baughman Jr., of Merritt Island, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to The Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
