
THOMASVILLE Joe G. Moore, 86, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at the High Point Regional Hospital.
Joe was born in Davidson County, May 4, 1926, a son of the late Marshall Howard Moore and Mary Epsie Gray Moore. He founded Joe's Tractor Sales in 1949 and continued to operate the shop until he was no longer physically able. Joe's love was Allis-Chalmers and Long tractors. He could fix almost anything, was an expert farmer, and enjoyed spending time at Holden Beach. Joe was one of the founders of 10-A Fire Department and was active with the department for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Moore in 2006.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Kennedy and husband Jerry of Thomasville; a son, Joey H. Moore and wife Gale of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Amy Kennedy, Jeremy Kennedy and wife Victoria and Amanda Ellis and husband Jonathan, all of Thomasville; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Joe Ellis, Lucas Kennedy and Merissa Hicks; special caregiver, Ann Beal Whitehart and his beloved dog, Sam.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Rev. Joe Coltrane. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and at other times the home of Joey and Gale Moore. Memorials may be directed to
