STONEVILLE — Jerry Layne Hatcher, age 66 of 884 Price Grange Road, Stoneville passed away on Monday January 21, 2013 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. Military rites will be preformed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.

Jerry was born January 3, 1947 in Rockingham County to the late William "Bob" and Lottie Williams Hatcher. Jerry was in the Class of 65' at Madison-Mayodan High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam war where he received the Bronze Star.

Surviving are wife, Ann Clark Hatcher of the home; step-daughters, Fonda Lemons and husband Earl of Eden, Jackie Jackson and husband Bernard of Stoneville; brother, William R. "Bill" Hatcher, Jr. of Madison; sister, Barbara H. Bullins and husband Cecil of Mayodan; grandchildren, Earl, Jr. and Matthew Lemons; four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
