STONEVILLE — Jamie Carlton Smith, 82, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 2, 2013, at Brian Center in Eden.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Smith Family Cemetery in Henry County, VA.

A Rockingham County native, Mr. Smith was born March 20, 1930. He was the son of the late Joe Frank Smith and Ruby Robertson Smith. Mr. Smith attended Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church, a member of Rockingham County Historical Society and a member of Stokes County and Rockingham County Geneological Society. He was a retired tobacco farmer.

He is survived by his two sisters, Reba Batton of Wilmington and Lexie Glenn of Winston-Salem; and two brothers, Charlie F. Smith and Ralph Smith of Stoneville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, John Loftin Smith and brother, Joe D. Smith and two sisters, Eunice Smith and Mary Norman.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Christian View Pentecostal Holiness Church.
