GREENSBORO — Mrs. Inez Brower Clark Howard, 96, of 2912 Spring Garden Street, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Camden Place and Rehab.

Visitation will be on Sunday November 25 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the N. Elm Chapel of Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home. A graveside service will at 11 a.m. on Monday November 26, 2012 at Greenhill Cemetery.

Mrs. Howard was a native of Randolph County where she was born January 30, 1916, daughter of the late Clay C. Brower and Sallie Brown Brower and was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Brower of Siler City; sisters, Marjorie Brower Butler of Cary, Dorothy Brower Dillon of Fairfax Virginia, and her husbands, Robert W. Clark, Sr., and James Howard. (She was twice married, first on April 1, 1933 to Robert W. Clark Sr., who died July 14, 1969 and later to James Howard on January 20,1973, who died July 18, 1988.)

Mrs. Howard resided most of her adult life in Greensboro. She was a homemaker, a member of College Park Baptist Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Guilford Chapter No. 141, American Business Woman's Association and United daughters of the Confederacy, Guilford Chapter No. 301. Mrs. Howard was an avid bridge player.

Survivors are sons, Robert W. Clark, Jr. and wife Patricia Turner Clark of Pinehurst, John V. Clark and wife Lynn Modlin Clark of Greensboro, James B. Clark of Greensboro, Peter Howard and wife Marla of High Point, Mark Howard and wife Lori of Stokesdale, Justin Howard of High Point. Daughter Sally Howard Lankford of Boca Rotan, Florida, sisters, Faedene Brower Jones and Betty Jean Brower Lewis and husband John all of Asheboro, Sara A. Brower of Springfield, Va., Ellen Brower Maki of Navarre, Fla. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
