GREENSBORO — Mr. Howard C. Mabe, 84, of Greensboro, departed from this life on Monday, January 21, 2013, at Moses Cone Hospital.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with Rev. David Miller officiating.
Born in Stokes County, May 19, 1928, Howard was of the Christian faith. He retired from George C. Brown Cedar Company after 47 years of employment. He loved to read and enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He was a very kind, caring and humble man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 63 years, Ida Sue Osborne Mabe of the home; son, Chuck Mabe; sister, Mary Lee Thompson; grandson, Matt Mabe and wife Anna; and granddaughter, Jennifer Mabe.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
