GREENSBORO — Homer Earl Trogdon, Jr, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 21, 2013, at Adams Farm Living and Rehab in Jamestown.

Homer, or H.E. as he preferred to be called, was born on May 21, 1923 in Randolph County, NC, the son of Homer E. and Nancy A. Adams Trogdon, Sr. He honorably served his country in the US Navy. Following his discharge, he was employed by Industries of the Blind, and later owned and operated a yard maintenance service.

Homer was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy W. Trogdon and son, Robbin D. Trogdon, one infant brother and two sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister; Marie Linthicum, Randleman, NC, brother; Elwood Trogdon, Trinity, NC, children; Annette Milton of Greensboro, NC, Bryson E. Trogdon and wife Jane of Pleasant Garden, NC , Michael Trodgon of Morehead City, NC, Laura Phillips and husband Roger of Mooresville, NC , Teresa S. Miller and husband Steve of Greensboro, NC, and Erich Hackney of Lumberton, NC; grandchildren, Bryson Trogdon, Jr (wife Julie), Mary Trogdon, Kelly Trogdon, Brian Phillips (wife Ginger), Todd Phillips (wife Jenny) and Sarah Steed. And many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 2 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Reverend Michael Barrett officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr.Bruce Brodie and Dr. Michael Norins for their excellent and compassionate care through the years. A special thank you and love goes to Sean Caulder, Shirley Tatum, and the wonderful staff of Adams Farm Living and Rehab in Jamestown.
