
GREENSBORO Mrs. Helen Oliver Harrison Venable, 85, of Greensboro died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Clapps Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden.
A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Helen graduated from Sumner High School in 1944 and went on to retire from Gary Jobe Builders. She has been a lifetime active member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Class and held numerous positions down through the years.
Helen is preceded in death by Neil H. Harrison, her first husband of thirty-nine years that she lost in August of 1985 and her great-great granddaughter, Maya Grace. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Jay Oliver and sisters, Bessie Spivey and Betty Jobe.
Mrs. Venable is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Venable whom she married in 1997; daughter and son-in-law, Sybil and Jerry Moser of Ramseur; son and daughter-in-law, Larry N. and Jane Harrison of Greensboro; step-son, Mark Venable of Atlanta; step-daughter, Martha Venable Harris and her husband, Joseph; sisters, Iris Fields, Ada Burge, and Joan Fields; brother and sister-in-law, John "Bill" and Jean Oliver; grandchildren, Forest Moser (Angie) of Oklahoma City, OK., Brian Harrison (Mitzi) of High Point, Adam Harrison (Jodie) of Amesbury, MA, step grandson, Ryan Harris of Greensboro; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Sydney, Gracie, Katie, and Owen.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. today, February 3, 2013 At George Brothers Funeral Service.
