GREENSBORO — Gwendolyn Laverne Alston, 61, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Wednesday February 20, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mrs. Alston was born May 16, 1951 in Guilford County, the daughter of Lee Weldon Donnell and Katie Lee White. She was preceded in death by her parents.

On January 18, 1991 she was married to James M. Alston, Jr. who survives of the home. Also surviving are one son, Jonathan "Joe" White of Lynn Haven FL, three sisters, Mary Ann Donnell and husband Doug of Greensboro, Karetha Hargrove and husband Alphonso, Miss Vanessa Foster all of Greensboro; one brother, Herman Foster and wife Anna of Greensboro and a host of nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel.
