GREENSBORO — Geraldine "Jerri" Barrett Higgins, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Beacon Place Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. Burial will be private.
Jerri was born November 9, 1943 in Kingsport, TN to the late Howard Clarence Barrett and the late Matilda Nell Vest Barrett.
She was a member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church and loved the Lord whole-heartedly. Jerri retired several years ago after working many years being self-employed and finally as account manager with Readervision and Boren Brick Manufacturing Companies. She enjoyed reading her bible, going to church, spending time with family and friends, the beach, shopping, painting, playing the piano and caring for her Yorkies.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Dennis Mark Higgins.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Huggins Feltes of Pilot Mountain and husband John; Lisa Huggins LaPrade of Greensboro and husband Jim; her grandson, Mike LaPrade of Greensboro; her granddaughters, Taylor Solzsmon of Pilot Mountain and Kaylee LaPrade of Greensboro; her brother, Wayne Barrett of Burlington and wife Betty; her sister, Marsha Roberts of Morehead City and husband Tom, and five nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, February 18 at Forbis & Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel and at other times at the home.
