RALEIGH — Gary Martin Green, 44, passed away February 22, 2013. Gary was born in Huntsville, Alabama on May 6, 1968 to Claire Martin Green and the late Robert "Pete" Carroll Green, Sr. Gary graduated from Grimsley Senior High School, Greensboro in 1986. He went on to attend UNC-Chapel Hill receiving a Bachelors in chemistry and was a Phi Lambda Upsilon, Honorary Chemical Society in 1990. He then attended N. C. State with the Burroughs-Welcome Scholarship and graduated with a Masters' in Organic Chemistry in 1998. After graduating he worked at Aventis in New Jersey and then at Glaxo-Smith Kline in RTP, NC. Most recently Gary decided to attend law school at the University of Richmond and was in his last semester. Gary loved spending time with his family, dogs and cats and writing about them in his blog.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.
Surviving are mother, Claire Green, brother, Robert C. "Boo" Green, Jr., Aunts and Uncles, Betty and Richard Green, Mary Lou and Buddy Green, cousins, Patty Mills and her children, Stephanie Williams, Savanna and Logan Mills, Christy Brinkley and her children, Alexis and Ashten Brinkley, Dianne Bowen, Steve Green, Donna Lewis.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. W. J. and Pearl Martin, and Clyde and Niva Green, aunt and uncle, Pat and Lynn Griffin.
