STONEVILLE — Mr. Frank Conrad Lauten, Jr., 92, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Madison United Methodist Church, 110 West Academy Street with Rev. Dan Ramsey officiating.

A life-long Rockingham County (Stoneville) native, Mr. Lauten was born January 27, 1920, the son of Frank Conrad Lauten, Sr. and Lucy Pritchette Lauten. He was a World War II veteran serving from 1942-1946 in the U.S. Air Force and was an avid supporter of Joshua's Troops Gathering. He was a member of the Madison Lions Club; served on the Madison-Mayodan School Board and coached American Legion baseball. A long time member of Madison United Methodist Church, he served as a member of the United Methodist Men and sang in the choir.

Mr. Lauten served as General Manager and part owner of Lauten Ford for over 36 years and was the owner of Mid Town Chrysler.

Mr. Lauten was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Mae Lauten and sister, Dorothy Lomax.

He is survived by three children, Jan M. Lauten and husband, Vern Smith of Elizabeth City, Conrad Lauten, and wife, Terri of Marietta, GA., Bill L. Lauten of Venice, CA; three granddaughters, Natalie Lauten of Nashville, TN., Emily Lauten of Marietta, GA and Abbey Lauten of Venice, CA.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Ray Funeral Home and other times at the family home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Community Christian Home Care, P.O. Box 760, Stoneville, NC 27048 or Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.

The family would like to give special thanks to caregivers Shelby Corum and Delois Nelson and Linda Smoak and the staff of Community Christian Home Care for the tender loving care given to their father.
