
GREENSBORO Mrs. Frances Ann Yow Lewis, 79, a resident of Greensboro died Saturday June 23, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. Mrs. Lewis was born June 12, 1933 in Greensboro, the daughter of James Thomas and Clatie Alice Siler Yow. A graduate of Greensboro High School, Mrs. Lewis a licensed beautician was a beauty operator with Darti's Beauty Shop. Later, she and her sister Jackie joined her Aunt Ila Monti at Siler's Beauty Shop. She was a member of Florida Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jackie Y. Roberts.
Surviving are her husband, Donald Meadows Lewis of Greensboro; two daughters, Donna L. Brannock and husband Donald of McLeansville, Cynthia L. White and husband Danny of Archdale; one brother, Tommy Yow and wife Rickie of Swansboro; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery conducted by Pastor Dean Mattern. The family is being served by the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. There will be no public visitation held.
The family would like to thank the staff at Greensboro Retirement Center for the care that has been shown to Frances and to her family during her time of stay.
