CASCADE, VA — Mrs. Evelyna Bailey Wilson, 72, of 285 Unicorn Drive passed away on Thursday evening, December 6, 2012 at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Mayberry and Rev. Rick Hayward officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge-View Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Danville, Va. on September 1, 1940, a daughter of Walter and Bertha Wilson Bailey, both deceased. She was a retired lab technician with Virginia Solite and also worked in cosmetology for many years. She was a member of Cascade United Methodist Church. She was devoted and very active in projects for the benefit of the Cascade Community.
She is survived by her husband, William V. Wilson of the home; her daughter, Deborah Wilson Bliss and husband Tony of Ridgeway; her son, William V. Wilson, Jr. of Cascade; her sister, Peggy Haley of Cascade; her grandchildren, Jason Bliss, Crystal Manning, Lauren Wilson and Stephen Wilson; and her great grandson, Ryan Hayes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Wayne Wilson and her brother, Bryant Bailey.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
