MCLEANSVILLE — Mrs. Eula Kiger Paisley, age 82 of McLeansville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Eula was born in Surry County to the late Silas Franklin and Eunice Brown Kiger. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Eula married her childhood sweetheart, John, and they celebrated their 65th wedding aniversary on June 14 of this year. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who loved nothing more than spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, John Porter Paisley, Sr. of the home; sons, John Porter Paisley, Jr. and wife Joyce of Burlington, Robert Thomas Paisley of Fleetwood, NC and Ronald James Paisley and wife Kathy of McLeansville; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother, George Kiger and wife Kay of Greensboro; sister, Alice Kiger Meade and husband Floyd of Bradenton, FL and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kiger of Greensboro. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Silas Franklin Kiger, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2012 in the Bethel Presbyterian Church by Rev. Paul Rhodes and Rev. Sue Flippin. Acting as pallbearers are Joe Hedrick, Holt Alcon, Chris Denman, David Terry, Spalding Craft and Steve Hankins. Interment will follow in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Paisley will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until being taken to the church for services. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and at the residence at other times.
