SAN ANTONIO, TX — Douglas R. Dadisman, 62, lost his battle with cancer and passed away January 12, 2013, in San Antonio, TX. Doug was a devoted husband and loving father to his children. Doug is survived by his wife Nancy O'Malley; five children, Alexandra Dadisman, Rachel Logan Dadisman and fiancé Lance Corporal Jason Flouer of the U.S. Marines, Shane Montgomery, Benjamin Harpel and Molly Harpel. Doug's early life in Greensboro, North Carolina was filled with the love of his parents, Rachel and William Dadisman, and made richer by the love of his grandparents, cousins and extended Dadisman, Straughn and Maness families of Greensboro.
The term "he never met a stranger" was coined for Doug. He was an intensely loyal friend whose friendship enriched the lives of all who knew him. A quintessential southern gentlemen, Doug loved life, playing poker, all things southern, the SEC and particularly his alma mater the University of Tennessee.
Doug was an attorney who practiced immigration law, principally in Tennessee, Michigan and Florida, prior to retirement. Doug's passion for his work was inspired by his desire to change lives for the better through citizenship. Prior to practicing law, Doug had a very successful career in university development working for the universities of Memphis, Chicago and Tennessee. Doug graduated from Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1968. Doug earned many academic and professional honors during his college years serving as a leader in student government and within his profession. He earned his bachelors' degree from Catawba College in North Carolina and completed a Master's degree and Ph. D studies in Public Administration at the University of Tennessee. He earned his J.D. from University of Memphis Law School and attended medical school in Kansas.

A memorial mass will be held Saturday, January 19, 2012 at 12:30 p.m., at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Catholic Church, 8500 Cross Mountain Trail, San Antonio TX 78255. Monsignor Conor J. McGrath will officiate.
