
SILER CITY Doris Spence Albright, of 302 E. Elk St. died on Saturday, February 19, 2011. She was 88 years old.
She was a longtime teller for the Chatham Bank in Siler City and later became an officer for First Union Bank.
She is a member of the First Baptist Church in Siler City and was active in the Silk Hope Home Extension Club and the Universal Healthcare Red Hat Society. She graduated from Coleridge High School and attended High Point College.
Funeral service and burial will be at Brush Creek Baptist Church in Siler City on Monday, February 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Hobson officiating. Burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery.
Surviving are her son, Benjamin Spence Albright and wife, Bonnie; daughter, Pearl Albright Herndon, and husband, Mack; stepson, Naman Thomas Albright; stepdaughter, JoAnn Albright Puryear, and husband Dink. She has five grandchildren, B. Spence Albright, Jr., Gavin Pike Albright, Jenna Beth Stewart Anderson and husband Brian, Anna Stewart Baxter and husband, Jordan, and Charles Douglas Puryear; and two great-grandchildren, Conner Spence Anderson and Harrison Keith Baxter. She is also survived by one sister, Rachel Spence Brooks and two brothers, Dwight Spence and Tim Spence.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph Lee Spence and Jenny Finison Spence; her husband, Naman Teague (Pete) Albright; granddaughter, Ashley Elizabeth Albright; and her sister, Nancy Spence Sizemore.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home in Ramseur from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011, and at other times at the home of Ben Albright.
