REIDSVILLE — Doris Gibson Wilson, 74, of 3694 Ashland Road, passed away on November 13, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Ashland Road Baptist Church and the burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was a native of Rockingham County, living most of her life in Caswell County. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Orene Gammon Gibson. She and her husband worked side by side farming together and making their house a home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Family was her passion and she always welcomed everyone. She loved to cook, enjoyed her flowers and keeping up with the neighborhood news. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Wilson; her son, Kenneth "Dale" Wilson; her sister, Mary Ruth Wray and son-in-law, Allen Ross.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Jean Wilson and Frank "Eddie" Wilson both of the home, Wanda Lea Wilson of Reidsville, Barry Wilson and wife, Tammy of Reidsville, Barbara Talalah and husband, Tommy of Burlington, Susan Ross of Reidsville, Tammy Shumaker and husband, Richard of Mebane and Essie Morton of Burlington; her grandchildren, Stephen Wilson, Brook Simpson, Eric Simpson, Nicole Purdy, Kenneth Wilson, Sarah Wilson and Matthew Wilson; great grandchildren, Justin Shumaker and Kadince Talalah; brothers, Garland Gibson and wife, Pat of Arkansas and Ross Gibson and wife, Lois of Pelham; sisters, Joyce Wilson of Ruffin and Edith LaPrad and husband, Jack of Eden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 15 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
