GREENSBORO — Dora Brown Tickle, 93, of Greensboro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel, with Pastor Charles Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Dora was the eldest of eight children, born to the late John Clyde Brown, Sr. and Irene Coates Brown of High Point. She was a member of One Way Baptist Church and loved to witness for her Lord. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her flower garden and sharing the flowers with others. Dora was a steadfast rock to her family, a kind, loving, and compassionate woman who was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Marvin Joe Tickle, Sr.; sisters, Helen Randall and Christine Court; brothers, Wesley, J.C., Charles, and Dan Brown.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Marvin Tickle, Jr. and wife Glenda of Climax; daughters, Brenda Mercer and husband Richard of Randleman and Gloria Brown and husband Roger of Greensboro; brother, Earnest Brown and wife Shelby of High Point; grandchildren, Michael Tickle, Amy Hoag, Sherri Cummons, Lisa Brinkley, and Johnny Mercer; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday evening March 3, 2013 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Gloria and Roger Brown.
