
GREENSBORO Mr. Donald "Donnie" Lee Beal, 74, of Greensboro, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, November 30, 2012.
Mr. Beal was born August 21, 1938, and grew up in the Cone Mill Village. He retired from Cone Mills after 30 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved to go fishing with his sons and his brothers and enjoyed taking trips to the beach. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Chapel.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Beal; mother, Edith Chandler Beal; brothers, Bobby Dean Beal and Jerry Wayne Beal; sister, Brenda Kay Beal.
Mr. Beal is survived by his wife of 57 years, Opal Carter Beal; sons, David Beal; Steve Beal (of the home); daughter, Lisa Beal; brother, Paul Beal; grandchildren, Jason, Josh, Ashley; great-granddaughter, Brianna.
In February 2012, Donnie surrendered his life to the Lord and everyone he met could see the change in him. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband and a caring Dad. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Homegoing service will be held 2 p.m. on Monday, December 3, at Philadelphia Baptist Chapel, with Rev. Joe B. Chandler and Rev. Larry L. Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
