DRY FORK — Clarice Stowe Parrish, 92, of 192 Stowe Lane, Dry Fork, VA died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 while a patient at Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation in Jamestown, NC.
Born July 27, 1920 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Essie Davis Stowe and the late George Dewey Stowe. Mrs. Parrish was employed with Dan River, Inc. retiring with 30 years of service. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Archie N. Parrish on March 18, 2011.
She is survived by her only son: Douglas "Doug" Neal Parrish and wife, Sharon of Jamestown, NC; one sister: Frances P. Jones of Dry Fork, VA; one niece: JoAnn Atkinson of Dry Fork; and four nephews: Billy T. Parrish, Gary W. Parrish, Steve Parrish, and Tommy Stowe, all of Danville, VA.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Dewey Stowe and her niece, Betty Stowe.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services, Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville with Rev. Bennett Shelton and Rev. Joe M. Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
