

GREENSBORO Clara McCoy Moore was born on November 7, 1941 in Murrell Inlet, SC to the late Edna McCoy and George Wigfall. She departed this life on Friday March 8, 2013. She courageously fought a long battle with Leukemia. She was married to Edward Darlan Moore on December 20, 1970. She was employed by Guilford County Department of Social Services as an eligibility investigator for 32 years before retiring in 2001. She was a longtime member of Celia Phelps United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Chancellor Choir and Hospitality Committee.
Clara became a member of the Khalif Court #90 in 1983. She worked on numerous committees and served as Illustrious Commandress in 1992. She was a member of Magnolia Chapter #23 OES where she participated on several committees.
Clara leaves to cherish her life memories, her four children, Cheryl (Tim) Watson, George Simms (Marian) of Greensboro, NC, Edward Darlan Moore, II (Shannon) of Tacoma, WA, Erin Moore of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Maxine Benjamin of Long Island, NY, Cynthia Wigfall of Jacksonville, NC; two brothers, George Wigfall, Jr. of Jacksonville, NC, Samuel Wigfall of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Indiah, Terrell, Darian, Exavier, Elaina and Lil' Vance; one great grandchild, Khya; three nieces; five nephews; a host of cousins and friends; two brother-in-laws and five sister-in-laws.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Darlan Moore on April 24, 2010.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Cancer Center for Cone Health at Wesley Long Hospital, Greensboro, NC in memory of Clara B. Moore.
