SUMMERFIELD — Christine Moore Hilton, 81, of 312 Glencoe Church Loop, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Glencoe United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Haynes officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hilton was born in Rockingham County to the late, Glody William and Ruby Hudson Moore. She retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. She was a lifetime and faithful member of Glencoe United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for several years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Tommy J. Moore.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Walter H. Hilton of the home; her son, Phillip Hilton and wife, Sherrill of Summerfield; grandchildren, Zachary Hilton of Summerfield and Rebecca Blankenship and husband, James of Raleigh, NC; brother, G.W. Moore of Stokesdale; sister, Lula Mae Roberts and husband, Ed of Summerfield; sister-in-law, Marilyn Moore of Summerfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 23 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and other times at her home.
