
GREENSBORO Mrs. Christine Miles Edwards, 94, passed away January 23, 2013 at Clapps Nursing Center. She was born on July 15, 1918, to John Henry and Willie King Miles in Mebane, NC. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Howard Edwards, her parents, and sisters Hilda Kirkman, Edith O'Neal, and Fern Kirkman.
She was a long-time member of West Market Street United Methodist Church and retired from Blue Bell, Inc.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Hall of Greensboro and husband John; her son, Howard Edwards, Jr. of Cedar Rock, North Carolina, and wife Judy; her granddaughter, Andrea Hewitt of Greensboro, and husband John; her two great grandchildren, David and Kate Hewitt of Greensboro; her sister, Nell Jeanne Ellis of Sarasota, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service at Muir's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Muir's Chapel Road in Greensboro on Saturday January 26, 2013 at 2 p.m., with the Reverend Doctor Patricia Spicer presiding. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Hall residence following the service. Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel is assisting.
