EDEN — Mr. Charlie R. "Rusty" Hill, Jr., 69, of 151 Circle Loop, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
Mr. Hill was born in Eden on December 29, 1943, a son of Charlie Richard and Ethel Spink Hill, Sr., both deceased. He was a graduate of Morehead High School Class of 1962. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968. He received his degree from Rockingham Community College. He was employed by Fieldcrest Mills for 35 years in Management and by Knight Oil until his retirement in 2005.
Charlie was an avid Duke fan. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Hill; his son, Kyle and wife Gayle; his daughter, Kristy Trafton and husband Eric; his brother, Randy and wife Joy; his grandchildren, Aaron and Kyndal Hill, Garner and Spencer Trafton; his step children, Lee Dishmon and wife Debbie, Randy Dishmon and wife Kamu and Lori Dixon and husband Dale; his step grandchildren, Bryan Dishmon and wife Jessica, Eli Wright, Maya Dishmon, Kristin Dishmon; and his step great grandson, Aiden Dishmon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Todd, Michael Ray "Butch", Steve; and his sister, Tammy Sue.
A memorial service will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
