GREENSBORO - Billie Joan Kuepferle Brklacich, age 82, passed away Thursday night January 17, as the first winter snow that she had so looked forward to began to fall.
Joan was born in Greensboro, NC, to Louis and Ruth Kuepferle on August, 29, 1930. Joan is survived by her daughter Toni Lyn Smathers, son-in-law Kenneth Smathers, and two grandsons William Russell and Nicholas Smathers; she is also survived by her brother Larry Kuepferle, and her two sisters Doris Vaden and Jane Mitchell.
Joan most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and little poodle Cricket. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarves for friends and family. Her favorite place to spend time was Carolina beach, especially at sunset.
As per her wishes no formal services will be held.
