SUMMERFIELD — Mrs. Betty Jones Glud, 87, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Countryside Manor in Stokesdale, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Carlton Utley and Reverend Dr. Robert Evans officiating. A reception with the family will be held in the sanctuary immediately following the service.

A native of Monroe, Louisiana, Mrs. Glud was born on December 19, 1925. She was a charter member of Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, and was a member of the Presbyterian Women and P.E.O. Chapter AL of Greensboro. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, her church activities and her growing family. Mrs. Glud was retired from Burlington Industries, where she worked as a computer programmer in the corporate office. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Aage Glud in 1995.

Surviving are her three children Debbie Green and her husband, Wayne, of Summerfield, NC, Peter Glud and his wife, Debbie, of Greensboro, NC, and Signe Stone and her husband, Art, of Concord, NC; three grandchildren Jimmy Torelli and his wife Shellie, Erin Stone, and Ryan Stone; and two great-grandchildren Audrey and Elijah Torelli.

The family wishes to thank the CNA's, nurses and staff of Countryside Manor, as well as Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro for their love, support, and care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church, 2614 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC 27310 for the Columbarium Fund.
