GREENSBORO — Mrs. Bernice Bethea Black died Wednesday November 09, 2011 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Funeral for Mrs. Black will be 2 p.m. Sunday November 13, 2011 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church with final disposition in Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Bernice married the love of her life, David Black, who died at an early age while serving in the US Army.
Bernice was a dedicated and faithful member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She worked briefly at Piccadilly Restaurant. She supported the Veterans Administration, the Alzheimer's Association, Children's Hospital, and Breast Cancer Research.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories a brother, Percy Morris Bethea of Greensboro; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
