REIDSVILLE — B. Wayne McCollum, 74, formerly of 194 Shadowood Lane Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Morningview Assisted Living in Greensboro, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday March 21, 2013 at Reidsville Christian Church with Rev. Shannon Newsome officiating. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery with military rites.
A native of Rockingham County he was a son of the late John D. and Grace Middleton McCollum and had lived all of his life in Rockingham County. He was the retired operations manager of the Reidsville Social Security Office, a member of Reidsville Christian Church, a graduate of Guilford College, and a US Army veteran. Wayne was preceded in death by a brother: Johnny McCollum.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Betty Gray Arnold McCollum of Morningview Assisted Living in Greensboro, NC, a daughter: Kelly McCollum Hilliard and husband Billy of McLeansville, NC, Papa's buddy and very special grandson: Harrison Wayne Hilliard. He was blessed with a loving family and wonderful friends.
The family will see friends at Reidsville Christian Church 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday March 21, 2013 prior to the service and at other times at the home of his daughter.
