GREENSBORO Mr. Allen Sherman Glover , 77, of Greensboro, NC, a person who even in the most challenging circumstances could find something to be happy about, died peacefully early Sunday morning February 3, 2013.
Sherman was born in Randolph County, the son of the late Alvesta Spinks Glover and Guy N. Glover.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Gerald-Glover; a daughter, Sharon H. Glover of Fayetteville, NC; a step-son, T. Allen Howell Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; a sister, Honora G. Brown of Greensboro, NC; a special aunt, Mrs. Classie Meredith of Greensboro, NC; a niece, Dr. Venita Thornton; two grand nephews, Richard and Preston Thornton of Bowie, MD; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013 at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 600 E. Florida St., with Rev. Dr. Gene Taylor, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Family visitation will be at the church on Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and other times at 2103 S. Benbow Road.
