
GREENSBORO Mr. William "Bill" Brooks Langley, Sr., 87, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Whitestone Masonic and Eastern Star Home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 Peace United Church of Christ.
Mr. Langley was born on April, 24, 1925 in Guilford County. He retired from the U.S. Post Office following 35 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Peace United Church of Christ, longtime member of Gate City Masonic Lodge # 694 and former owner of Langley and Duncan Auctioneers for 20 years. A U.S. Coast Guard and Navy veteran, he served during both World War II and Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Laura Langley; a daughter, Sherry Nicholson; a son, Brooks Langley, Jr. of Gibsonville; sister, Lib Paterson of High Point; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
