SAMMY COLLINS

ASHEBORO — George Robert "Sammy" Collins, age 69, of 676 Woodland Circle, Asheboro died Wednesday at his home.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tyler Gaulden officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Collins was a native of Stokesdale, NC and attended Bessemer High School. He was retired from Norman Machine Company of Asheboro. Sammy loved to fish and hunt, and was a regular at P&J's Diner.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Marshall Collins; son, Jeff Collins of Asheboro; daughter, Angie Cornelison and her fiancée Steve Dunlap of Asheboro; grandchildren, Brian Cornelison, Stephanie Cornelison, Dalton "Little Bones" Cornelison, Maranda McNeill, James McNeill; sister, Shirley Neilson of Greensboro; brothers, Henry Clay of Greensboro, Perry Clay of Greensboro; and his extended family, the Marshall family of Greensboro.
