PHYLLIS DOYLE LASHLEY

GREENSBORO — Phyllis Doyle Lashley, 85, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. A memorial service will held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Reverend Bernard Owens officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parish hall. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery will be private.

Phyllis Lashley was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on October 10, 1927, daughter of the late James Herman Doyle and Lorena Skeenes Doyle Berg. Mrs. Lashley was a registered nurse, and veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She was a longtime member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, and a volunteer at the Greensboro Historical Museum.

Mrs. Lashley was preceded in death by her first husband, Forrest Eugene Wilson. She married Eugene M. Lashley in 1981, and he also preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Joanne Howle of Marion, NC; sons, Dana Craig Wilson of Norfolk, Virginia, and Tracy Dean Wilson and his wife, Jennifer, of Alexandria, Virginia; stepdaughters, Ann Lashley Hale and husband Bill of Raleigh, and Susan Lashley Ingle of Wilmington; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, 2105 West Market Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27403.
