NICK COLLINS

BURLINGTON — Nick Collins, 89 of 2118 Walker Ave. Burlington died January 31, 2013 at The Hospice Home of Alamance after years of failing health.

Preceded in death by his wife Cornelia (Kaye) Ray Collins in 2001; parents Amelia and Angelo Collins; siblings; Jimmy Collins, Chris Collins and Ernestine Pefanis.

Survived by daughter Angela Kaye Collins Cinson, and son Joseph Collins, grandchildren; Amber Cinson Laughlin, Shaun Cinson, and Adam Cinson, great granddaughter Makayla Laughlin and siblings; Thalia Bundros and husband Tony Bundros and Irene Xillas and many nieces and nephews.

He was a loyal member of Emmanuel Methodist Church, and avid supporter of St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church. He was an avid gardener for life. Also a decorated World War II veteran, member of the American Legion, past Commander of the Joseph Coble DAV Chapter, and 2008 Recipient of the State of North Carolina "The Order of the Long Leaf Pine" for his years of service aiding veterans. Nick was an active member of the community. He worked in the Real Estate business for over 40 years and co-owner of Collins and Young.

Service will be held at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

Prayers of Three Saints Trisagion will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service with the family receiving friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Any visitors to the family will be received at the home of his daughter Angela at 2122 Hawthorne Lane in Burlington.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Alamance and Caswell County, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
