
STOKESDALE Mrs. Helen Thomas Albert, 83, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Duke University Medical Center.
Mrs. Albert's funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, at Stokesdale United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tony Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A Guilford County native, Mrs. Albert was born on December 27, 1928, the daughter of the late Lewis Sample Thomas, Sr. and Pearl Craddock Thomas. She was a lifelong member of Stokesdale United Methodist Church, having been baptized there as a child. For many years, Mrs. Albert was co-owner of Hall-Kimes Jewelers in Greensboro. She had also worked for the Stokesdale Bank, and Farm Bureau in Reidsville.
Surviving are her daughter Gail Albert Moore and her husband, Johnny, of Chapel Hill; two sisters Annie Lee Thomas Bolton of Summerfield and Katherine Thomas Kellogg of Pfafftown; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnson Bryant Albert in 1985, and siblings Lewis S. Thomas, Jr., Mary Thomas Mills, Charles Craddock Thomas and Mima Virginia Thomas Ellison.
The family will receive friends this evening, Monday, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Forbis & Dick Brooke Chapel.
