HICKORY — Franklin Sevier Harris, 43, of Texas, formerly of Hickory, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 in Texas. Born January 21, 1969 in Florida, he was the son of Delbert "Del" Franklin Harris and Beverly Jane Morrow Harris of Hickory.

A 1987 graduate of Fred T. Foard High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a chef in Greensboro.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Mark Harris and wife, Elizabeth of Woodbridge, VA; and his maternal grandmother, Edna Ball Morrow of Hickory; and two nephews, William and Johnathan Harris survive him.

A Memorial service will be 5 p.m. Thursday December 6, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terrell Long officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Spinal Muscular Atrophy Association 925 Busse Road Elk Grove Village, Illinois 60007.
