
SALISBURY Flonnie Clara Brattain Hysinger, forever young, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born September 11 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Cornelia Idabelle Brooks Brattain and Oscar Jerome Brattain.
She was educated in the Salisbury schools, graduated from Boyden High School and attended Salisbury Business College.
Mrs. Hysinger was employed for the Rowan Public Library for 22 years, prior to that she was employed for Carlton Yarn Mills for 50+ years before retiring.
She was a member of North Main Baptist Church, was the Sunday school secretary for more than 50 years and was a former nursery Sunday School teacher.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Croppsie Brattain Barnhardt, Lois Brattain Eller, Velma Brattain Jacobs, Eunice Brattain Murphy, Samuel Brattain, Rachel Brattain Redding, Mary Brattain Thompson and Ruth Brattain Hogsed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon Wood and husband Dusty of Madison, Pam Smith and husband Cliff of Summerfield; sister, Hazel Brattain Snider of Salisbury; grandchildren, Marcus Wood and wife Jennifer of Asheville, Elliott Wood of Cary, David Smith and wife April of Morgantown, WV and Keri Smith and her son Rily Boothe of Naperville, IL and all of her nieces, nephews and their families.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, January 5 at North Main Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. at North Main Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Dale Robertson, officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.

The daughters would like to extend their appreciation to her co-workers at the Rowan County Public Library for their love, care and support of their mother. A special thanks goes to Dr. Sean Malone for his care of Mrs. Hysinger and support of her family, the staff of Rowan Regional Medical Center, and the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
